Personality

Astrid can be described as a woman who strives to live her life with confidence and without much restrictions, wishing to not wait for things to come to her and instead pushes herself to strive towards the goals she sets for herself. Such was how she became proficient in the art of the Fist and Pugilism, and later on with Firearms and Magitek. She is somewhat brash and sarcastic whenever she is out on adventures and/or hunting for bounties. In casual settings however, she tends to temper that brash attitude for a more relaxed and kinder disposition. Thanks to training in Pugilism, she has develop a great appreciation for fitness culture, and as such you will more than likely find her in the middle of a jog or a workout of some kind. And as a result, she takes pride in her body, and all the curves that comes with her current figure. She had recently become well acquainted with firearms and certain forms of tech, and as such, developed a working mind and a genuine curiosity for figuring out the in and outs of some magitek. Though this curiosity does have it's limits, as Astrid can be quite superstitious about certain things that she is unfamiliar with and will actively choose to have nothing to do with it. This can include anything regarding certain magicks, allagan tech, and just the general unknown.

Backstory

Born in Ala Mhigo, Astrid was only a newborn when her mother had escaped the garlean occupation while holding her in her amrs, eventually reaching the southern reaches of the desert lands known as Thanalan. They would eventually settle into a small refuge that would be known as Little Ala Mhigo, where Astrid would spend a good majority of her childhood. She would train under the tutelage of her mother, who was a monk from the order of the Fist of Rhalgr, learning the ways of Monkhood.It was until she had reached her teenage years where she would find her way to the City of Wealth know as Ul'dah trying to make her way in the world. At one point, she was accosted by the son of a wealthy merchant who had eyes for her, to which she then proceeded to retaliate by beating the shit out of him. This would prove to come back to bite her later on, as the merchant's son had ties to the Monetarists of the Syndicate, and his now bruised ego called for her to be sent to gaol. After a couple of nights spent in gaol, Astrid was convinced that her life was all but over, however she was soon bailed out by a high-ranking member of the Pugilist Guild who saw the whole altercation take palce. She was then later on recruited into the Guild and has since become a mainstay, not only taking up adventuring jobs for the guild, but also competing in local fighting tournaments from time to time.Some years later, Astrid would eventually take up bounty hunting, often working freelance and taking jobs wherever she can get them. It was also a great excuse for her to travel and see more of the world outside of the three main city-states. It wasn't until she made her way to Ishgard, where she met a contact from the Skysteel Manufactory that not only gave her higher-paying bounty contracts, but also taught her how to properly use firearms. This would also extend to her becoming self taught in minor engineering, learning how to make small gadgets to assist her in her line of work. As of today, Astrid continues to travel to many different places, taking jobs and celebrating with a nice flagon of ale afterwards.

Bounty Hunter: Astrid currently makes a living as a freelance bounty hunter, operating throughout all of Eorzea. It is entirely possible to meet her while out on the job somewhere.
Pugilism/Monkhood: From an early age, Astrid had received teachings in the ways of the Fist from her Mother, as well as being a regular with the pugilist guild from her late teens to now. Any other practitioner of unarmed combat would be more than welcome to request a sparring match with her or a training partner.
Firearms: Astrid mainly uses pistols and/or rifles for her jobs, and is quite proficient with them. She would be happy to meet another gunslinger to talk firearms with them. On another note, she is always on the lookout for any arms dealer willing to sell her any firearms as well as plenty ammunition.
Fledgling Engineerer and Mechanic: Astrid has recently taken in interest in certain forms of magitek and has since made strides in learning how to make small gadgets ranging from electric grenades to disruptors from scraps of salvaged magitek. She is very willing to meet with other more experienced engineers and possibly learn a bit more.
Avid Tavern Goer: After every job, she enjoys going to local taverns around the area to wind down and enjoy a flagon of fine spirits. Feel free to strike up a conversation if you happen to see her!
Expanding Horizons: Bounty Hunting does have it's advantages. And one of those said advantages is the opportunity to travel to new and exciting places. And there are still plenty of places that Astrid has yet to visit.
